ELECTROPHORETIC LACQUER COATING CLEARCLAD 413

Coating Performance

The coating performance factor for the HSR413LF is 477. To calculate the covered area in square metres, divide the factor by the required coating.  For example, for thickness in microns for 1 kg of HSR413LF, the coverage area per 1 kg of concentrate in 10 microns is 477/10 = 47.7 square metres.

Keep in mind that the  coating strength may decrease with the addition of the mattifying agent REOKOL and certain colourants. You can contact Galtek Galvano Technical Department for details.

Physical Specifications

Transparent coating: The curing programme is 170°C for 30 minutes of metal temperature.

Normal coating thickness range: 5 – 15 microns depending on the application.

Pencil hardness (ASTM D3363): 5 – 6H at 3 Newtons (groove method)

Abrasion resistance (ASTM D968): Coefficient = 25 litres/mile with Ottawa sand.

Adhesion: ISO2409 classification 1 max can be applied to surfaces of normal thickness.

Scratch resistance (Erichsen 318): 1.75 Newton-mar, 15 Newton-groove.

Acetone rubbing test for curing: 1000 times double rubbing.

Perspiration resistance (ANSI/BHMA): Curing programme and thickness depending on cycles up to 4 x 15 minutes.

Environmental Resistance Test

Salt water corrosion (e.g. ASTM B117): Fully cured HSR413LF film, corrosion inhibitor with barrier effect. The final resistance depends on the substrate, the metal variety, pre-treatment and HSR413LF film thickness. Qualified testing with valid specifications for the compatibility of any system is recommended.

Ultraviolet light (ISO11507): UVA340: 1250kJ/m², decorative aspect without significant loss. Less mass loss 5mg/dm2. (Note: only transparent resin systems – for coloured systems you can contact Galtek Galvano Technical Department.

Resistance to Chemicals

For hardware and fittings items applications the LC413 has excellent resistance to regular household cleaning products. It is resistant to personal care, kitchen products and many commonly used industrial chemicals.  In the list below you can see some special and generic materials that have no effect on  LC413 after 24 hours . The contact time on the basis of hours was applied by baking for 30 minutes at a product temperature of 170°C.
